PERIOD
Oct 2014 — Dec 2024

The context

A utility modernization initiative required more than smart meter deployment. Meter usage needed to move through billing, collection, accounting, and reporting processes, with technical and business teams aligned throughout delivery.

THE BUSINESS FLOW
  1. 01Smart meters
  2. 024G usage data
  3. 03Monthly billing
  4. 04Bank payments
  5. 05Financial accounting
  6. 06Central reporting

Sanitized conceptual business flow, based on the project description. It is not a production architecture or system screenshot.

My contribution

  • Translated business and operational requirements into technical specifications, workflows, and integration requirements.
  • Coordinated automated data exchange between metering infrastructure and downstream billing and financial systems.
  • Served as a liaison between government stakeholders, business users, and technical teams.
  • Managed testing, validation, deployment, and production readiness across technical and operational teams.

What it supported

The program connected smart meter usage acquisition with billing and local-bank payment processes, township financial accounting, and central reporting. Network monitoring supported the observation of meter tampering, unauthorized usage, and operational anomalies.

What I carry forward

Reliable integration is as much about shared business rules, data consistency, and operational ownership as it is about moving data.
